Can't Quite Kick It

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been sick now for 3 weeks with a sinus infection, ear infection and a stubborn cough. Kevin has just gotten over his illness of the same except he had conjunctivitis on top of everything else (pink eye). Of course, mommy got it too. Well, mommy just can't quite kick it.

I went to the doc on the third day of being sick. I have been taking the prescribed antibiotics and other medications, and my temperature finally did go away. As a result of that alone I feel much better. But I have become an 'olfactory factory'. I never knew one's sinuses could flow like a water fountain left turned on. Puffs tissues have become my best friend (with lotion and aloe). Halls Mento-lyptus with 'advanced vapor action' is like candy to me now. Vics Vapo-Rub won't even touch my sense of smell. Not only do I blow day and night, night and day, but the persistent cough that results from the constant drip is driving me batty.

Oh, I know this too shall pass. As long as it doesn't go into bronchitis I'll be ok. It doesn't feel like it's going to. It's just really annoying. I'm giving it until the end of the antibiotics and if I still blow like a steam train I'm going back to the doc.

In the meantime, I haven't had one iota of creative desire in me. I've made just a couple of things while being sick but I really just don't feel like making anything. I can't get much done between blows anyway. But I did make this pair of earrings that I thought turned out pretty cool.

citrine briolettes with cut-out oval earrings

I think the next thing I'll make is another wire wrapped necklace. I love wire wrapping. It's very relaxing in a 'twisted' sort of way. But I've had some pearls yelling at me to make a necklace and so I guess I'll give in to them if I can just quit blowing!

And one last thing to a reader who shall remain anonymous...the Glitter Storm was a big hit!! Thank you for everything!!! :D

He loves it!!

Until next time when maybe I'll be feeling much better.....

I feel your pain! I'm about to head to the store for Robitussin cough gels. I swear by those. I thought I was heading into a cough, but it just keeps teasing me.

I started taking Echinacea, yesterday, for the sinus infection. I've also added Quercetin (a flavenoid for sinus health) to my daily routine. The Ech. just increases my own white cell count against infection, but I just can't do more antibiotics since the IV ones were so much, in August. I just can't keep up on the good bacteria.. so its off to probiotics for me, after all of this, too..

my refrigerator died today.. I can't even think of how to replace it, right now. My head hurts too much to put it on the "to-do" list. I have a small end-table sized one in the family room that took half of the necessities and the Coleman electric cooler is plugging away.. it made the worst noise today..

I don't know how you found any creative juice. I think just getting a drink to take more Ibuprofen is a lot of work!

Be well soon! *hugz* ~Heidi

I hope you are feeling better soon. I once had to take 2 rounds of antibiotics for a sinus infection.
I miss your blogging and flickr photos.

Keep those aloe tissues on hand! They're your best friend right now.

Only people who have been there can feel your pain! I remember a faculty member complaining that a student had been out a whole week with a sinus infection, and didn't buy it. I told her that my grand-mother DIED of a sinus infection. Of course, that was before antibiotics, but, what an unsympathetic person. I've passed out at work a couple of times trying to work during a sinus infection. Thank God, I seem to have finally gotten it out of my system but it used to be twice a year, every year.

I hope you feel better soon!

Oh dear. The sinus infection sounds terrible! I've had one that lasted a week and even gave me toothache, and can't imagine having to go through it 3 weeks with no end in sight. No smell and taste! Please have plenty of rest and fluids! *sends feelgood vibes along*

Oh, girlfriend I feel for you. I hate being sick, especially with what you got going on there. I wish I had your snail mail..I send you a little care package to help make it better. Us mommies need to be taken care of too. :o) I see you blogged this last Wednesday, so I hope by now you're feeling better. {{{HUGS}}}}

Even with your illness, you made a pair of BEAUTIFUL earrings! I'm sure they'll go fast on Etsy!

Off to start supper...it's shepards pie tonight....yummy comfort food for these chilly Autumn nights.

Hope you are feeling better by now. Those earrings are stunning, and they sold right away, didn't they? Yay!

The earrings are/were out of this world!
You are getting superb at wire-wrapping those brios!

Such a long time to be sick, it can start to depress you.
Take it easy, okay?

Kevin's face is priceless!
