Let It Rain
The boulder is also the place where I take the pics of my jewelry. Hopefully that will change soon as I am looking into buying a light tent. I'm not feeling industrious enough to make my own and I want one that can travel easily. So I'm looking into them online and lights as well. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'm hoping that better pictures will equal more sales. I don't know. It can't hurt. By the way, here are pictures of my latest sales:
I love all three pairs of these earrings. They were all fun to make, especially the bottom ones. I love hammering.
Well, I guess I better hit the sack. Tomorrow I will try to figure out what the heck is going on with DaWanda. Can't get it to display my item correctly in German! Having major translation problems period. I posted a thread about it on the forum and hope admin will address it soon. They should be getting to work about now. Good morning Germany!
Until next time....

Barney, the Rescue Dachshund
As far as dachshunds go he's very sweet. Dachshunds can sometimes have an attitude but not Barney. I had two mini doxie girls who both died in March of 2005. One of them was sweet to me and close family but not to everyone else. The other one didn't know a stranger. Barney is like she was...sweet to everyone. And he gets along great with my son who is 5 and is not always gentle although he's getting better. But Barney tolerates Kevin and gives him lots of kisses! I'm so glad I found Barney. What a wonderful soul he is. I am privileged to be his human. He never asks for much. A good belly scratch and a treat, and somebody to play with him and his tennis ball. Boy, don't get between him and it. You'll lose. He brings it, but he won't give it. He's funny. Here are two pictures of him with his precious ball.
Barney is beautiful. Inside and out. I hope he lives a long life with me as my other two dachshunds did. I look forward to many years of happiness together. There's nothing like being in a bad mood and seeing his sweet face. He's never in a bad mood. He's always ready for a treat or to play, no matter what mood I'm in. He always brings a smile to my face and I think that's why he's here. Thank you, Barney. And thanks to the Southern States Dachshund Rescue group where I found him.
I have added some dachshund related links so please be sure to check them out. And if you can find it in your heart to rescue an animal, please do. They are so grateful and give you the kindest thanks. So many dogs as well as other animals need our help. Rescuing Barney was the best thing I did to honor the memory of my two beloved minis. They await me at the Rainbow Bridge and perhaps they are the ones who guided me to Barney.

My World And Welcome To It
As you can see I look every bit of my 45 years. (Prematurely gray hair runs in the family. Getting old sucks.) I have a husband who works in IT for a printing company, and I am a human mom to my beautiful rescue dachshund, Barney. He's a standard black and tan longhair. Beautiful soul. He's a great dog. Can't imagine life without him or why someone would give him up. I'll write about him often as well as my son.
Originally from the beautiful mountains of North Carolina in Ashe County, my heart seeks the solace of that place every day. Living in the city has gotten old. Very old. I hope to go back there someday to stay. Life is too short to be somewhere your heart is not. Ashe County has a wonderful art community that is beginning to blossom. Plenty of galleries in which you will find mountain crafts and handmade items from the area. There are lots of places to hike, canoe, enjoy the views and just plain ol' relax. It's pretty laid back there. That's what I like! And in some places you can even still find 'country dark'!
I love bluegrass music, and the mountains of North Carolina are filled with great bluegrass. I love good coffee and chocolate. Everyday I hear more about these two things actually being good for you. I love creating jewelry; it's my most frequented artistic outlet. I love all kinds of art including painting and coloring with my son. I love playing with my dog. I love my family, nature, gazing at the stars (if you can see them for the light pollution), listening to the wind in the trees and the birds singing to herald spring. I love gardens. I love the quiet, beautiful stillness of nighttime in the country . I dislike loud noises, light pollution, raping the land of trees, politics, the price of gas, living in the city, traffic, rudeness, and hypocrits. That pretty much sums it up.
This is where I will let the world peek at what my life is like being a clueless mom of a preschooler, and having dreams of someday being able to make jewelry for a living. I have a shop on Etsy where I hope to add more things very soon! If I can find the time to take care of my son, my dog, create, photograph, edit, post and still get sleep it will be a miracle. That's where the coffee comes in!
Until next time....
